A blessed feast of St. John the Baptist to the parish of Ladomirová! ☦️ For years, we have been bringing Roma children to Ladomirová and other Orthodox pilgrimages. Here they meet believers outside their settlements, build friendships, and discover that the Church is truly their home too. We also take them to all-night vigils, Akathists and nighttime Divine Liturgies — inspired by the advice of St. Paisios. And we can see the fruit: friendship, deeper faith, and a real love for the services. This year, more than 360 people gathered in Ladomirová, and our children were among them again. Glory to God for everything, and thanks be to God for everyone who supports our mission. Through your help, He makes it possible for us to bring these children to places like this and let them experience the life of the Church for themselves. ☦️ 🥰3❤1

🎒 A new school year begins in Markovce! Dear friends, Our first Sunday school of the new school year brought the children together again for learning, games, and fellowship. Here is a little glimpse of the joy we shared! ❤️ Through these simple moments, we help children discover their gifts, build friendships, and grow in Christ. Your prayers and generosity help make this ministry possible. Thank you for walking alongside our Roma mission in Slovakia. Please keep the children, their families, and everyone serving them in your prayers as we begin another year together. ☦️ If you would like to help our work continue: https://www.romamission.eu/en/get-involved With gratitude in Christ, Fr. NEWS FROM OUR ROMA MISSION — PART 4/4 At the end of July, we celebrated Saints Cyril and Methodius and their five disciples with our traditional children’s festival. The children had practiced dancing for three months with young leaders from the community under the guidance of Matushka Miška. Their performance for their families brought great joy to everyone. Thanks to your generosity in helping us renovate the parish garden, we now have a beautiful and safe place for lessons, celebrations, and fellowship. Thank you for supporting our mission. Please keep the children, their families, and our ministry in your prayers. With gratitude in Christ, Fr. Martin and family ❤4

NEWS FROM OUR ROMA MISSION — PART 3/4 By God’s grace, we celebrated several Baptisms—mostly infants, but also an entire family that had been considering Baptism for a long time. Glory to God, they are now united in the Orthodox faith!Altogether, we welcomed 13 new Orthodox Christians into the Church. Our Sunday School continues each week, bringing together 30–40 Roma children for prayer, Bible lessons, reading, math, games, and fellowship. We have developed special worksheets for children at different literacy levels. They begin by practicing letters and words and gradually progress to reading short Bible stories and completing more advanced exercises. For every completed worksheet, the children earn a “Bible Buck.” They can save these for school supplies, a soccer ball, or a special parish trip combining a church event with fun activities. — To be continued — ❤3

NEWS FROM OUR ROMA MISSION — PART 2/4 For the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul, Fr. Martin and the altar servers made a pilgrimage on foot to the nearby village of Dúbravka, whose church is dedicated to the two Apostles. We also joined a pilgrimage at our sister parish in Závadka. Children from the segregated Roma settlement near our second mission center in Klenovec came with Fr. Libor Seraphim and Matushka Dagmar. Together with the local faithful, they prayed Vespers and participated in a Lesser Blessing of Water. In July, we attended the diocesan celebration of Saints Cyril and Methodius, the patrons of our eparchy. We also joined a summer camp organized by the parish in Spišská Nová Ves for a trip to Košice. The children visited an aviation museum, enjoyed time together, and later prayed Small Vespers. — To be continued — ❤3

NEWS FROM OUR ROMA MISSION — PART 1/4 Dear friends, We would like to share a few highlights from the past two months in our Roma mission. We participated in a Children’s Day organized by our deanery. Children from our mission center in Klenovec prepared and ran an archery station for children from the other parishes. The day concluded with a special foam show organized by the local firefighters, which everyone greatly enjoyed. During the school year, Fr. Martin teaches Orthodox Christian religion at a local school. Thanks to our excellent cooperation with the principal, one class each month can be held in our church, just a short walk from the school. Twice a year, the entire school—including the teachers—attends Divine Liturgy. Before the school year ended on June 30, the children enjoyed their final lesson in our renovated parish garden. They sang, drew pictures, and played together on the playground. — To be continued — ❤3

🇸🇰 A new place for children to learn, pray, and grow This winter, our parish in Markovce completed a major improvement of the parish garden. What began as a drainage project to protect the parish house from water damage also became a new space for our growing children's ministry. The area was drained, paved, and partially covered, creating a place for Sunday school, catechism classes, games, and community activities. The project cost approximately €24,000 ($28,000 USD). We knew there were around 200 ortho children living in our village, but even so, the response surprised us. Today, 30–40 children regularly participate in parish activities, and new children continue to come. To make this project possible, we moved forward before all funding was in place and are now gradually covering the remaining costs. 👉 Donate: https://www.romamission.eu/en/get-involved Please remember our children, volunteers, and parish community in your prayers. Fr. Martin and the Orthodox community in Markovce 😍2❤1🥰1
